Bhubaneswar: Be close to people, talk with them directly and listen to their issues caringly with empathy and respect. Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra shared this mantra with the probationers in Odisha Administrative Service (OAS).
Addressing the OAS probationers at Gopabandhu Academy here during the inaugural session of Institutional Training Phase, Mahapatra urged the officers to adhere to the golden principles of ‘Mo Sarkar’ introduced by the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
“It is a very progressive and people-centric approach for a successful democracy’, said Mahapatra. “Let the people feel that Government is their Government and it is working for them only”, the Chief Secretary shared.
Complementing the probationers for their field-level activities during the peak period of COVID-19, Mahapatra said “You have got the unique experience of handling an unprecedented pandemic at the beginning of your career. Odish’s model of Covid management has got national and international appreciation. Capitalize your experience and apply it in mitigation of public health crisis, if any, in future.”
He cautioned the officers that when repeated bad feedback about a particular officer comes through the technique ‘Mo Sarkar’, the Government takes serious action.
He advised the probationers of 2018 batch to work in coordination with other officers and elected representatives as each one has a special ability and good quality.
Among others, Director General of GAA SP Thakur said the probationers have completed their field training during COVID-19 operation and institutional training will continue up to June 27.
Additional Commissioner, GAA Himansu Bhusan Panda also spoke. The batch has 62 probationers of which 29 are women.
