Odisha Chief Secy Discusses Security Measures For Dual Polls With Top Officers

Bhubaneswar: Chief secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena on Monday held a high-level meeting on deployment of CAPF and SAPF during the dual elections in Odisha.

Chief electoral officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal, additional CEO N Thirumala Nayak, DGP Arun Kumar Sarangi, additional chief secretary of Home department Deoranjan Kumar Singh and senior officers of the police department attended the meeting.

The meeting focused on law and order measures during the 4 phase elections to Lok Sabha and Assembly starting from May 13.

Deployment of police force including Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and State Armed Police Force (SAPF) as per sensitivity of the booths to maintain law and order across the state featured in the meeting.

Besides, steps to be taken for EVM commissioning and security at strong rooms where the EVMs will be kept after the end of polling were discussed by the top officers.
