Dubai: Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra has invited officials from both the Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC) and Sharjah Airport International Free (SAIF) Zone to the Odisha Investors’ Meet in Dubai.
A delegation led by Mahapatra visited DMCC to understand the free trade zone concept, primarily in the services and financial sector industries. DMCC is one of the largest free trade zones in the UAE, trading in agricultural products, tea, coffee, gold, diamonds, cryptocurrencies, etc.
The Chief Secretary discussed the possibility of conducting training programmes for youths from Odisha for employment at centres such as DMCC.
The team also visited the Sharjah Airport International Free (SAIF) Zone and the warehousing facilities adjacent to the Sharjah Airport. The delegation also met Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director, SAIF ZONE, and discussed with officials possibilities in the logistics and warehousing sector in Odisha.
