Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra will address the media on the COVID situation in Odisha at 6 pm on Wednesday.
The state has been reporting over 11,000 cases for the last two consecutive days and has 84770 active cases.
Earlier in the day, Health Services Director Bijay Mohapatra had said that though the spread of the virus is a matter of concern, it does not warrant the imposition of lockdown or shutdown at present.
Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik stressed micro-containment strategy instead of lockdown to contain the spread of the virus after a review meeting on Tuesday.
