Bhubaneswar: It is mandatory for IAS officers in Odisha to take the approval from the Chief Secretary before proceeding on leave.
The office memorandum issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department said that some officers had been availing leave without authorisation, leading to disruptions in administrative work. “The Chief Secretary is the competent authority for sanction of leaves. It is, therefore, decided that prior permission of the Chief Secretary shall be mandatory for all IAS officers of the State while availing leave and also leaving the headquarters.”
They have been directed to follow this instruction with due diligence.
