Bhubaneswar: The state government has dismissed Chairperson of the Odisha State Child Rights Protection Commission (OSCPCR), Mandakini Kar, and five other members.
The five members who have been removed from the panel are Sasmita Nanda, Ruby Vishal, Susri Jalina Priyadarshini, Chhabi Mahali, and Anita Behera, according to official sources.
It may be noted that a show cause notice had been issued to the Chairperson and members on November 16, 2024, based on allegations made against them. Following the notice, Kar and other members had appealed to the High Court, which ultimately dismissed their petition after reviewing the facts.
Following the court verdict, the Women and Child Development Department has issued an order dismissing the chairperson and members of the panel.
