Health Officer In Vigilance Net In Odisha’s Sonepur

Sonepur: Additional District Public Health Officer Dr Nabakishor Behera was apprehended by the Vigilance here after he was caught taking a bribe of Rs 16,000 from the complainant for extension of his contractual engagement on higher pay.

Behera, a Class I officer, was caught red-handed by Sambalpur Vigilance sleuths. A case under Section 7 IPC (Amendment) Act,2018 has been registered.

Investigation is in progress and simultaneous searches have been conducted on Behera’s properties at three places in Sonepur and Kandhamal. Details are awaited.
