Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 179 new corona positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the affected tally to 4,856 on Saturday.
The I&PR Department tweeted that of the 179 new cases, 150 were reported from various quarantine centres and the remaining 29 were detected during contact tracing.
According to Health Department sources, Ganjam reported the highest of 57 new cases, followed by Khurda (27), Keonjhar (18 ), Cuttack (15), Mayurbhanj (10), Angul (6), Bhadrak (5), Rayagada (5), Kendrapada (5), Jagatsinghpur (4), Jajpur (3), Bargarh (2), Malkangiri (2) , Nabarangpur (1) and Deogarh (1).
Among the new patients, 18 are disaster relief personnel who had returned from Amphan duty in West Bengal.
With 11 deaths and 3297 recoveries, Odisha now has 1543 active cases.
