Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and two other Ministers will attend the proceedings during the winter session of the state Assembly through virtual mode due to health issues.
Apart from Naveen, Ministers Prafulla Mallik and Prafulla Samal will also attend the Assembly proceedings virtually owing to health reasons. They have informed Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha in this regard. Health reasons have been cited by them.
According to sources, the Speaker is of the view that members facing health issues can attend the House proceedings through virtual mode.
While the Chief Minister was present in the Assembly on opening day of the winter session on Thursday, Mallik and Samal attended the proceedings via video conference.
All the three will attend the future proceedings of the House through virtual mode.
Notably, the opposition BJP had earlier stated that it will oppose any move to continue the practice of participation in the House proceedings by any member through virtual mode. The saffron party alleged that virtual mode is used to protect the chief minister from the opposition.
