Bhubaneswar: With elections barely few weeks away, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (TI) for government employees and pensioners .
“The state government announce release of 4 per cent additional Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (TI) in favour of government employees and pensioners respectively to enhance the rate from 46%. to 50%,” a CMO release said.
The enhanced DA and TI will be paid retrospectively from January 1, 2024, and benefit 4.5 lakh government employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners, it added.
The last hike of 4 per cent in DA and TI was announced in October 2023. The enhanced amount was paid from July 1, 2023 retrospectively. It was considered as a festive gift ahead of the Dussehra and Diwali.
