Bhubaneswar: Based on the feedback from patients and suggestions from doctors to the Mo Sarkar team’s recent visit, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced that the health infrastructure will be developed in six districts.
The announcements made by the Chief Minister are:
—Financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) will be provided to each Rogi Kalyan Samiti of the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Kendrapara, Sonepur and Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir.
—Each Superintendent of Police of the six district will be provided Rs 10 lakh assistance to encourage blood donation.
—Rest sheds for the attendants of patients will be constructed on the premises of these six hospitals.
Sambalpur
In Sambalpur DHH, 50 additional beds will be arranged in the Mother and Child Health (MCH) centre and a new building for casualty and outdoor patients and Maa Ghara will be constructed.
—The Integrated Laboratory in DHH, Sambalpur will be modernized, while a dialysis unit and ICU will be set up.
—To provide special treatment facilities, the Sambalpur DHH will be made a satellite centre of VIMSAR (Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research) at Burla.
—New infrastructure will be constructed for the District Programme Management Unit (DPMU) building on Sambalpur DHH premises.
Deogarh
—Bed strength in the Deogarh DHH will be increased from 20 to 200.
Angul
— Bed strength in the Angul DHH will be increased from 192 to 300. A new building will be constructed. The dialysis unit will be expanded while the ICU will be upgraded. Also, one anaesthesia work station, additional electric autoclave and ECG machine will be provided to the DHH.
Kendrapara
— Bed strength in the Kendrapara DHH will be increased from 175 to 200.
—Staff quarters, a state-of-the-art OPD (out-patient department) and an ICU unit will be constructed on the new campus of the hospital. Besides, the dialysis unit will be expanded and the government will also provide two more ambulance vans and one more hearse van to the hospital.
Sonepur
—The construction of a 200-bed seven-storey building in Sonepur DHH will start in a month.
—To provide better health care, the state government will provide additional ultrasound machine, Bilirubinometer, Semi-Auto Analyzer, Multi-Para Monitor and CBC (complete blood count) machine to the hospital
Balangir
—The construction of Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital building will be completed in two years.
—A mortuary unit will be set up in the MCH Centre of the medical college and hospital.
