Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the three persons killed in the collision between a government bus and a motorcycle in Malkangiri.
Majhi expressed his deep condolences to the families of three persons, who lost their lives in the road mishap on Saturday night. The compensation would be provided from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, an official statement said.
It may be noted that three persons on a bike were killed as a speeding state government bus dashed against their motorcycle on National Highway 326 near MV-7 village under Malkangiri police limits on Saturday night. The mishap occurred near a bridge on Tamasha River. The three were residents of nearby Padmagiri MV 86 village. The bus driver fled the scene immediately after the accident.
