Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep grief over the death of three people in a road accident in Nischintakoili area onCuttack-Chandbali Road and announced ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh to the kin of each deceased.
Nine people were seriously injured in the accident and have been admitted to SCB Medical College in Cuttack. The Chief Minister directed the authorities to provide them with the best treatment. Naveen wished a speedy recovery of the injured.
The mishap took place in the morning when the bus carrying around 60 passengers was on its way to Cuttack from Kendrapada side. It collided head-on with a speeding truck registered in Rajasthan leaving three dead and 40 injured, including nine critically.
The injured have been admitted to local health centre while seriously injured passengers have been shifted to Cuttack.
