Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday expressed anguish over death of 3 persons in multiple-vehicle collision at Borigumma in Odisha’s Koraput district and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh each for their families.
Naveen also directed for proper medical treatment of the injured and wished them a speedy recovery.
The accident took place around 2.30 pm near Bijapur Square under Borigumma police limits when an SUV with Chhattisgarh registration number collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction and then crashed into an auto-rickshaw, carrying 15 passengers, from the rear before colliding with a second motorcycle, sources said.
The dead include two auto passengers and a motorcyclist. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital and those with critical injuries later shifted to SLN Medical College and Hospital at Koraput.
