Koraput: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced Rs 5 lakh ex gratia to the next of kin of three persons who died in a landslide in Pottangi area of Koraput district on Friday.
The CM also stated that the government will bear medical expenditure of the injured.
It may be mentioned here that three women died and one suffered serious injuries after a huge mound of limestone caved in while they were digging a portion of it at Podaguda under Pottangi block today.
According to reports, four women were collecting limestone by digging the mound for their household use when the mishap took place. Police and district officials reached the spot for an inquiry and the injured is undergoing treatment at Pottangi Community Health Centre.
