Bhubaneswar: In the wake of mishap during Adapa Bije Pahandi ritual of Lord Balabhadra, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed three ministers to ensure smooth conduct of the rest part of Rath Yatra in Puri.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan and Culture Minister Suryavanshi Suraj have been told to move to Puri on Sunday. They have been asked to camp in the Pilgrim Town till Niladri Bije of sibling deities, according to a release from chief minister’s office (CMO).
The three ministers have been tasked to supervise all the rituals to be performed for Bahuda Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra on July 16. All the activities related to the rituals should be completed in time without any disturbances, they have been told.
Besides, the ministers would ensure hassle-free participation of the devotees during the Bahuda Yatra, the release stated.
It may be noted that the idol of Lord Balabhadra fell on ‘charamala’ (temporary stairs) of his chariot while being taken by the servitors in Pahandi (procession) to Adapa Mandap inside Gundicha Temple on July 9 night. Several servitors were injured in the mishap.
