Bhubaneswar: Greeting people on the occasion of World Population Day on Thursday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik called for raising awareness for the sustainable, equitable and inclusive development for all.
“When we make our people healthy and educated, a large population becomes the most significant asset for making the nation prosperous,” the Chief Minister said in a message on Tweeter.
The governing council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989 had recommended the observation of World Population Day on July 11 every year to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues.
