Jeypore: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday celebrated Raksha Bandhan with girl students at Arabinda Nagar Sishu Vidya Mandir in Odisha’s Jeypore town, where is scheduled to disburse the third instalment of Rs 5,000 financial assistance under the Subhadra Yojana to over 1 crore women beneficiaries.
Deputy Chief Ministers Pravati Parida and KV Singh Deo along with Ministers Nityananda Gond, Gokulananda Mallick, and Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, were also present at the programme.
“Today’s programme was special. Our government is working for the development of the state and for the welfare of four different sections of society. Our aim is to ensure that all welfare schemes reach the people of southern Odisha, including Jeypore,” the CM said.
Keeping with the spirit of the festival, Parida tied Rakhi to fellow Deputy CM KV, calling him a symbol of brotherhood and a guiding force in public service. She also tied Rakhi to Congress MLA Tara Bahinipati.
