Odisha CM Chairs Key Meeting On Puri Ratna Bhandar Inventory



Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a high-level meeting in Bhubaneswar on Monday and discussed issues relating to the inventory of the Ratna Bhandar of Puri Jagannath Temple.

As per information, detailed deliberations were held with senior officials regarding the modalities concerning the inventory and related procedures of the treasury of the 12th century shrine.

The meeting was attended among others by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Arabinda Padhee.

Sources said the focus of

the discussions was primarily on the detailed process of counting and verification of valuables stored in the Ratna Bhandar and the schedule for the exercise.

Before the meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, preparatory discussions were held at the residence of the Law Minister. That meeting was attended by Justice Biswanath Rath, Chief Administrator of SJTA, Arabinda Padhee, and Puri District Collector.

Detailed discussions were held regarding the counting and verification process, including security arrangements, documentation protocols, and procedural safeguards.

Officials said that a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) outlining the step-by-step process for the counting and inventory exercise has already been prepared. The SOP has been sent to the government for approval to ensure transparency, security, and adherence to established norms.

The final decision regarding the date for the counting and inventory process will be taken by the temple’s managing committee, Harichandan said.
