Odisha CM Comes To Sushma Swaraj’s Defence After Vicious Trolling

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday came out in support of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who was trolled on Twitter in connection with passports issued to an inter-faith couple from Lucknow.

The Chief Minister tweeted, “Strongly denounce the vitriolic & intolerant responses to @SushmaSwaraj ji. She has been a leader in using social media to help common citizens of the country. Such conduct must be strongly condemned.”

Notably, the External Affairs Minister has been trolled and criticized by some people on twitter over the last week in connection to a controversy involving, issuance of passport to an inter-faith couple.

The trolls started after the Ministry of External Affairs granted passport to a Hindu-Muslim couple and transferred a Lucknow Passport official for allegedly harassing them. Strong languages were also used in those trolls and the Minister was accused of appeasing Muslims.
