Odisha CM Declares Odia Film ‘Aafaa’ Tax-Free

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday declared the Odia film Aafaa, directed by Pritiraj

Satpathy and produced by Naina Das Tiwari, tax-free in the state.

The Chief Minister approved a proposal in this regard, recognising the film’s social message involving organ donation and its potential to create awareness, particularly among the youth, an official statement said.

Aafaa tells the story of a 16-year-old girl battling a prolonged serious illness who chooses to donate her organs.

The film highlights courage, compassion and humanity, and is expected to inspire people while promoting awareness about organ donation, a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said.

The government expressed hope that the film would help foster a positive social outlook and encourage greater public awareness on the importance of organ donation.
