Bhubaneswar: In a historic step by Odisha government ending long pending problems of displaced people in different parts of the state, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday distributed land pattas to them.
The initiative, aimed at resolving prolonged land-related issues, began with Lakhnapur tehsil of Jharsuguda district, where displaced people have struggled with land-related problems for several years. 5T Chairman, V K Pandian, played a key role in expediting the resolution process during his visit to the area in August.
A total of seven villages in Jharsuguda Tehsil witnessed the distribution of land titles to 866 families, marking a significant step forward in resolving their long-standing land-related predicaments. Furthermore, 11 more villages are in line to receive land titles shortly, benefitting as many as 1339 families, official sources said.
Similarly, land in 22 villages in Sorada tehsil of Ganjam district had been recorded in the name of the Water Resources department way back in 1983. These land are currently undergoing settlement processes after coming under the Revenue department. The Chief Minister distributed homestead patta to 972 and land titles for 700.
Speaking on the occasion through video conference, the Chief Minister k highlighted that the distribution of land titles is an integral part of the state government’s commitment to resolving the issues faced by the common people.
The CM expressed his satisfaction over the success of the program, stating that the government is steadfast in its dedication to ensuring the well-being and success of its citizens.
The Chief Minister said that the government remains committed to resolving the land-related challenges faced by the people. He stressed that the government’s commitment to the welfare of the citizens is reflected in the rapid implementation of the 5T initiative in the state.
