Bhubaneswar: To promote cuisines of the state, the Odisha Tourism has come up with ‘Ama Ghara Ama Handishala’ programme.
The promo of the programme has the Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, expressing his love for the quintessential staple diet of Odias, pakhala (watered rice) and other cuisines of the state.
Extending his best wishes to the programme based on cuisines of Odisha scheduled to be aired on Doordarshan from August 15, the CM spelt out the list of his favourite food items.
“Odisha is a land of Lord Jagannath, who Himself is a Chhapanbhogi. I have a special liking for Odia festivals, different pithas and food of Odisha. Even, I only serve Odia food to the guests visiting my residence from outside. Odia cuisine has its own identity and I like ‘Pakhala’ the most,” he said.
