Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met BJP national president and Union Health & Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda in New Delhi on Saturday and held important discussions with him.
Majhi, who is on a visit to the national capital, also called on Vice President C P Radhakrishnan and both held discussion on a wide range of issues.
The talks centred around the current political landscape and the future roadmap for the state’s development.
“Today in New Delhi, I had the privilege of calling on our party’s National President and Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Jagat Prakash Nadda. We discussed organizational matters, the current political scenario, and the roadmap for future initiatives. His visionary guidance will continue to inspire us to serve with dedication and commitment,” the CM said in a post on X.
He also shared information about his courtesy visit to Vice President C P Radhakrishnan.
“I had the opportunity to pay a courtesy call on Vice President C P Radhakrishnan in New Delhi today. On this occasion, I shared details of our government’s development initiatives, welfare programmes, and future roadmap for the state. I also presented the ‘Odisha Vision 2036 | 2047,’ outlining Odisha’s long-term goals. I am grateful for his guidance and encouragement,” Majhi said on X.
These discussions highlight the Odisha government’s focus on strengthening organisational strategies and accelerating progress toward its developmental objectives.
While Majhi left for Delhi on Friday night. state BJP president Manmohan Samal is also set to travel to the national capital in a day or two, sources said.
The Delhi visit of the two top leaders has once again sparked speculation over a possible Cabinet expansion and reshuffle before Diwali. Alongside Cabinet changes, key appointments to state corporations and PSUs may also be finalised during this trip, according to sources.
However, with Nuapada bypoll around the corner, Majhi and Samal are also likely to have been summoned by the national leadership to discussion about possible candidates for the seat, which fell vacant due to demise of four-time BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia. A central team is reportedly also in the Nuapada for an assessment of the political scenario.
