Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a model vending zone for women at Dumuduma in Odisha capital on Wednesday.
The newl model vending zone has 42 shops which have been provided with all necessary facilities like proper lighting, drinking water, toilet, seating facility and parking area, official sources said.
The vending zone has been constructed by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Of the total 42 shops at the model vending zone, 30 shops have been allotted to women self-help groups (SHGs), three to Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) and one to the members of a Divyang SHG. The remaining shops will be soon allotted to eligible parties soon.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Urban Development Minister Usha Devi, Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Minister Ashok Panda, and Mayor Sulochana Das.
