Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated two state-of-the-art diagnostic centres for the people of Jharsuguda and Laikera on Friday.
Stating that Odisha is moving towards achieving the goal of providing robust health care facilities to all, the Chief Minister expressed the hope that the new diagnostic centres, set up in collaboration with Vedanta, will immensely benefit the people of Jharsuguda.
In order to build a healthy and happy Odisha, the state government has been setting up a number of medical colleges and strengthening the infrastructure in hospitals, Naveen said, adding that hundreds of doctors and paramedical staff are also being appointed to substantially improve the healthcare services in the state.
Noting that Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) has transformed the healthcare sector in the state, the Chief Minister said lakhs of people are getting benefits from the scheme every month.
This apart, people belonging to all sections of the society are being provided treatment free of cost in government hospitals, he said.
Describing quality healthcare service is an important parameter of development, the CM said the government has been making constant efforts to strengthen the healthcare sector.
It is a matter of happiness that the private sector is getting involved in strengthening the healthcare facilities in the state, he said, adding that quality of medical facilities will further improve with the cooperation of all. He thanked Vedanta for its cooperation in this direction.
