Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday launched a number of development projects worth Rs 375 crore in Kaptipada sub-division of tribal-dominated Mayurbhanj district.
At a ‘Bikasha Pathe Mayurbhanj’ programme held at Patpur area of Udala, the Chief Minister inaugurated 52 projects implemented with an investment of about Rs 100 crore. Majhi also laid the foundation stone of 106 projects being taken up with an investment of around Rs 275 crore.
These projects taken up by the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department will add a new dimension to the development of the state, the CM said.
The projects include Anganwadi centres, upgradation of water bodies, public service centres, public health centres, cooperative societies, among others, a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said Odisha is now moving ahead on the path of development. The government has launched many welfare and developmental programmes for the betterment of the people. Several schemes, including Godabarish Mishra Adarsh Prathamik Vidyalaya Yojana, Madho Singh Scholarship Scheme, Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, and New Education Policy have also been implemented in the state, he said.
New schemes like Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, Jagannath Darshan Seva, and Model Mandi have also been envisaged by the government, the CM said.
Stressing that the government has revived public hearing of grievances, the Chief Minister said he and members of the cabinet and elected representatives are now directly listening to the grievances of the people and trying to redress them. “We are committed to holding such hearings in various parts of the state in the future,” “he said.”
“Our goal is to build a prosperous Odisha by 2036. Mayurbhanj will also have a special role in fulfilling this,” he said, adding that all should work together in the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas to make that dream a reality.
