Sambalpur: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday launched 25 new e-buses in Sambalpur and announced that 25 more such vehicles will be added by the end of the month.
The inauguration took place during the Chief Minister’s two-day visit to Sambalpur. The move aims to make transportation smoother, safer, and more efficient for residents.

Urban Transport (CRUT) at Ainthapali was also inaugurated to streamline bus management. A provision of Rs 238.14 crore has been allocated for the maintenance of the terminal and buses over the next 10 years, Majhi said.
Highlighting passenger convenience and safety, the Chief Minister said the buses are equipped with wheelchairs for differently-abled passengers. Digital payment facilities are available, and users will also receive discounts on digital transactions. Being electric, the buses are expected to reduce environmental pollution in the city.
The event was attended by Revenue & Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayan Mishra, former MLA Nauri Nayak, and BJP District President Ramachandra Meher.
