Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday laid foundation stones for Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) plants and Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen generation plants in eight districts through video conferencing.
The LMO & PSA facilities will come up in the districts of Jharsuguda, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Sonepur, Nayagarh, Sundargarh and Mayurbhanj.
The state has seta target to set up 20 PSA oxygen generation plants and foundation stones for seven were laid earlier this month. These 20 plants can generate 24,000 litres of medical oxygen per minute, stated a government release.
Addressing people on the occasion, Naveen said the state has witnessed an improvement in COVID situation but people need to be more careful.
While advising the health and district authorities to remain fully prepared for the possible third wave, Naveen appealed people to wear double mask and get vaccinated as early as possible.
Steps are being taken to strengthen oxygen supplies in all hospitals, he said and added “Every life is precious”-is our mantra for management of every disaster.
