Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday laid foundation and inaugurated industrial projects
The industrial units with investments over Rs 409.03 crore and ground-breaking of projects with a cumulative investment of Rs 1,950.26 crore took place during the 14th phase of inauguration ceremony. The projects aim to generate employment opportunities for over 3,200 persons in the state.
In a bid to boost the industrial activities in the state, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday inaugurated two industrial projects and performed groundbreaking for 11 projects worth over Rs 2359.29 crore in Odisha.
The projects include a logistic park, three ethanol plants, a steel expansion project, a cement manufacturing unit and a 5-star resort among others.
These diversified and employment-intensive projects will create potential employments for over 3,200 persons in the state. Some of the leading companies promoting these projects include Tata Steels, Swosti Premium, Greentech Bioenergy and Coastal Biotech.

Speaking on the occasion, Naveen said “Odisha is fast emerging as the ‘Manufacturing Hub of Eastern India’. Our Government’s progressive policy framework and regulatory environment has enabled the rapid growth of industries in the state. The implementation of ease of doing business reforms and facilitation provided by various departments have ensured that businesses continue to grow in the state.”
“Our government has been focusing on skilling the youth of Odisha to make them industry-ready and many industries have come forward to participate in our skill development initiatives,” Naveen added.
Industries and MSME, Home and Energy Minister Dibya Sankar Mishra, Chief Secretary, Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Development Commissioner Pradip Jena, Secretary to CM (5-T) VK Pandian and Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of different Department were also present.
