Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik boarded a flight for New Delhi from Biju Patnaik International Airport here on Sunday afternoon on a 7-day official visit.
The CM is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 11 and discuss the long-standing demands of Odisha for Special Category State status, revision of mining royalty and financial assistance to tackle natural calamities, among others.
“I will be meeting the Prime Minister on June 11 mainly regarding the damage done by the Cyclone Fani and the funds the Centre can give us for that,” the Chief Minister said before leaving for New Delhi on the one week tour in the afternoon.
About his other engagements, he said he has an appointment with the President of India.
Apart from this, the Chief Minister will also meet Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and other Union ministers on issues relating to Odisha.
He will attend the Niti Aayog meeting on June 15 and return to Bhubaneswar in the evening.
