Odisha CM Mohan Majhi ‘Bats For’ Success Of ODI Match At Barabati Stadium, Unveils Theme Song

Cuttack: Ahead of the India-England ODI match on February 9, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday visited Barabati Stadium in Odisha’s Cuttack to review the preparations and security arrangements.

“I discussed the progress in the preparations and the steps being taken to ensure the comfort of the spectators and players. This is also the first international match being played at the stadium with a new government at the helm of the affairs,” the CM said, expressing satisfaction with the arrangements.

Majhi also faced a ball bowled by former cricketer and former BJP MLA Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra.

As part of the lead-up to the match, he also unveiled a special theme song composed by Prem Anand and rapped by Samir Rishu Mohanty aka Rapper Big Deal.

All these efforts align with the excitement among fans for the second ODI match between India and England being played at Barabati after a gap of over five years. The stadium had last hosted an international match between India and West Indies on December 22, 2019.

The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has already announced the dates for online and offline sale of tickets for the upcoming match. Around 4,000 tickets online will be sold on February 2 with redemption from 10 am to 4 pm on February 7 and 8, and from 7 am to 12 noon on February 9 at Cambridge School in Cuttack and KIIT University in Bhubaneswar.

The offline ticket sale for the public will be held at the counters of Barabati Stadium from 9 am to 6 pm on February 5 and 6. People can purchase up to two tickets each by producing their valid ID cards.
