Prayagrah/Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi along with his family took a holy dip in Triveni Sangam at the ongoing Mahakumbh Meal near Prayagraj on Sunday.
The CM, who is on a three-day visit to Uttar Pradesh, was accompanied by wife Priyanka Marandi and other family members. They offered prayers at the Sangam before taking the sacred dip.
“I feel blessed to be a part of this deeply spiritual experience. On behalf of the people of Odisha, I extend my heartfelt reverence to this sacred occasion and pray for the well-being, peace, and prosperity of all. The Uttar Pradesh Government has made excellent arrangements here,” Majhi said.
The CM is also slated to take a trip to Ayodhya and seeking blessings at the Ram Temple.
With the mela concluding on February 26, Uttarakhand Governor Lt General (retd) Gurmit Singh, BJP leader and Puri MP Sambit Patra and Sufi singer Kailash Kher took a dip in the sacred waters during the day.
Mahakumbh has become one of the largest religious gatherings in history, with over 60 crore pilgrims participating in the bathing rituals. The number is expected to exceed 65 crore by the Mahashivratri Snan on February 26. To ensure smooth crowd management, authorities have intensified preparations, focusing on transportation, security, and pilgrim-centric facilities.
