Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Inaugurates Trauma Care Centre, OPD Building At Sambalpur DHH



Sambalpur: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday inaugurated a modern Trauma Care Centre (TCC) and a new OPD building at the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Odisha’s Sambalpur during his two-day visit to the district.

A CMO release termed the event as a significant step towards enhancing emergency healthcare services in western Odisha. It further stated that the newly-constructed Trauma Care Centre and OPD building were built at a cost of Rs 21.28 crore. 

Speaking to the media after the inauguration, the CM highlighted the growing need for dedicated trauma care facilities. He noted that accident rates have been increasing, making such centres essential in every district. The primary obje

ctive, he said, is to deliver prompt and assured treatment to the injured.

Majhi further revealed that within just 13 days of assuming office, his government had held discussions with the Health Department and decided to establish advanced trauma care centres in all government medical colleges, district headquarters hospitals, and other major public facilities. Plans are underway to set up a total of 89 state-of-the-art trauma care centres across Odisha, he noted.

Additionally, the Chief Minister inaugurated a Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) building constructed at a cost of Rs 2.53 crore within the hospital premises. This unit will use advanced methods to clean and sterilise medical equipment and supplies, ensuring higher standards of hygiene and patient safety.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water and Rural Development Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, Sambalpur MLA Jay Narayan Mishra and former MLA Nauri Naik. Sambalpur Collector Siddheswar Baliram Bondar was also present.
