Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met senior BJP leader and former Minister Samir Dey, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack.
The Chief Minister, accompanied by Deputy CM Pravati Parida, met the senior leader at the hospital on Friday, official sources said on Saturday.
Majhi inquired about Dey’s health and well-being and also extended wishes for his speedy recovery.
It may be noted that Dey was admitted in hospital after he suddenly fell ill on November 1.
He is undergoing treatment in the private hospital at CDA in Cuttack city.
Dey, a former minister, was elected from Cuttack City Assembly constituency for three times consecutively as BJP candidate. He had successfully contested the Assembly elections in 1995, 2000 and 2004.
He was the Urban Development Minister in the alliance government of BJP and BJD during 2000 to 2004 and Higher Education Minister during 2004 to 2009.
