According to reports, Dinabandhu Majhi, who worked at a local industrial plant, had been staying at a government quarter
in Lower PMG, Bhubaneswar. He complained of chest pain around 1 am and was rushed to Capital Hospital by ambulance, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Deeply saddened by the news, CM Majhi rushed to his native Raikala village in Keonjhar district’s Sadar block during the afternoon to attend the last rites. “He was my classmate and a close companion. We grew up together. He died of cardiac arrest late last night. He used to stay in my old quarters. He is survived by wife and two daughters. He was a simple person. I postponed Cabinet meeting, several other official works to attend his last rites here,” he told reporters.
Several leaders, including Union Minister Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo, expressed condolences, describing the loss as profoundly heartbreaking and offering prayers for strength to the Chief Minister and the bereaved family. A large gathering of local residents and BJP workers also assembled at the village to pay their final respects to the departed soul.
