Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi raised the issue of ‘Odia Asmita’ during his trip to Jharkhand on Monday.
Addressing a meeting during Jharkhand BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ campaign at Chaibasa, Majhi blamed Hemant Soren-led government of damaging ‘Odia Asmita’ in the state.
Raising concerns about state of Odia education in Jharkhand, Majhi said, “Odia speaking people are in a state of neglect in Jharkhand and the government here has conspired to destroy Odia education and language in the state.”
The Odisha CM said if BJP comes to power then Odia teachers will be appointed in 136 schools of Jharkhand. Besides, Odia students will be offered textbooks free of cost, he added.
