Bhubaneswar: Subhadra Yojana will be rolled out in Odisha on September 17, coinciding with the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed.
“We have requested Prime Minister to launch the scheme in Odisha under which women will get Rs 50,000 cash voucher each. Around 5 lakh women will attend the event,” said the CM while addressing the Odia community in Delhi on Saturday.
The first cabinet meeting of the BJP government chaired by the CM had approved a proposal to roll out the scheme in 100 days. It was a key promise in the Odisha BJP manifesto for 2024 elections.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who holds the Women and Child Development, had also said that drafting of the Subhadra Yojana is in its final stage and the department is working on the modalities, including eligibility.
