Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is slated to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Maharashtra’s new Mahayuti government on Thursday.
As per sources, the Chief Minister as well as Deputy CM Pravati Parida will proceed to Mumbai to attend the swearing-in ceremony to be held in Mumbai.
It may be noted that senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis is slated to be sworn-in as the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra. BJP has announced Fadnavis, a former Maharashtra Chief Minister, as its legislative party leader.
The BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) and the Nationalist Congress Party, or NCP (Ajit Pawar faction)—together called the Mahayuti—won a resounding mandate in assembly election results on November 23, but power-sharing talks in the alliance led to a delay in the naming of the chief minister pick.
