Odisha CM Mohan Majhi To Embark On 3-Day Bengal Visit For Investors’ Meet



Bhubaneswar: As part of Odisha’s industrialisation journey, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is slated to is set to embark on a three-day visit to West Bengal from tomorrow to attract investment in a wide range of industrial sector.

As per information, the Chief Minister is set to attend an Investors’ Meet in Kolkata on Friday during his three-day tour to the neighbouring state.

Apart from attending the meet, CM Majhi is expected to hold discussions with leading corporate leaders as part of the exercise to bring investments and boost industrial growth in the state.

Sources said the Chief Minister will be accompanied by Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and senior officials from the Industries Department during the three-day engagement.

With an aim to accelerate industrial growth and job creation through roadshows,

the CM will attend the investment meet for the second time in a month after the success of the investors’ meet held in Hyderabad last year.

Notably, the CM had attended Odisha Investors’ Meet in Hyderabad on December 19. The state received investment intentions worth over Rs 67,000 crore, with a combined potential of creating around 56,000 jobs over the two-day event.

Altogether 13 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the Hyderabad meet, representing an investment potential of Rs 27,650 crore and an estimated generation of 15,905 jobs. In addition, investment intentions amounting to Rs 39,131 crore were received, with the potential to create over 40,000 employment opportunities, officials said.

The roadshow in Hyderabad featured 38 high-level one-on-one meetings and two sector-specific roundtables focusing on Pharmaceuticals and Aerospace & Defence. While the Pharmaceuticals session saw participation from CXO-level representatives of eight leading companies, the Aerospace & Defence roundtable engaged 27 firms, underlining Odisha’s growing strategic importance in these sectors. More than 500 industry leaders, business associations, and institutional stakeholders participated in the Hyderabad event.
