Odisha CM Mourns Death Of Theatre Artiste Ramachandra Pratihari

Bhubaneswar/Puri: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik mourned the death of eminent theatre and cine artist Ramachandra Pratihari and conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Pratihari passed away following a massive cardiac attack in Puri on Sunday. He was 87.

Though a Pratihari servitor of Jagannath Temple, he was drawn towards the arclight and started his acting career at Janata Theatre.

He achieved great success in the theatre world and went on to debut in Ollywood with ‘Nua Bou’  in which he essayed the part of actor Prashant Nanda’s elder brother. He also acted in the film ‘Nilamadhaba’.

Pratihari was conferred with Jayadeb Award for his contribution to theatre, jatra and Odia cinema.
