Appointed Organisation Secy, Pranab Is BJD No 2!

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik on Thursday appointed Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das as the organizational secretary of the party.

Das will remain in charge of all organizational affairs of the regional party, an office order of the BJD said.

This is the first appointment after Naveen’s re-election as president for the eighth term in the organisational polls in February. And it is for the first time that the BJD president gave a byte in an appointment, recognising Das’ role in BJD’s landslide victories in the general and Assembly elections in 2014 and 2019 and subsequent bypolls in Bijepur and Patkura.

By announcing his appointment on March 5 when he completed uninterrupted 20 years as the Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen has indicated that the Jajpur MLA is the next in command of the party organisation.
