Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik would chair a Cabinet meeting from Japan through video conferencing at 1.30 pm on Sunday.
According to sources, some investment-related policies are likely to be announced while certain policies for Odia diaspora may also be considered. Besides, piped drinking water projects in few regions may also get Cabinet’s approval.

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AMNS India) inked a pact with the Odisha government on Saturday to set up a gymnastics high performance centre and three training centres for promoting the sport in the state as Naveen hosted a roundtable discussion with a focus on collaboration between Japan and Odisha in tourism and sports in Kyoto.
The Nippon Steel had earlier announced plans to set up the world’s largest steel plant in the state during a meeting with Naveen. Investment proposals worth over Rs 26,000 crore in green hydrogen and ammonia, green energy equipment manufacturing, IT, ITeS, logistics, metal ancillary, steel and metal downstream sectors were also received at Odisha Business Meet Tokyo 2023.
