Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced that will not celebrate his birthday on Friday in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the state.
Patnaik said people from all walks of life are going through a crisis period due to the COVID-19 for the last eight months. He requested his well-wishers not to visit Naveen Nivas to wish him.
Instead of celebration, he requested the people to donate blood and plasma on the day.
Last year also, the chief minister had not celebrated his birthday for cyclone FANI that hit Odisha coast on May 3, 2019.
