Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has lifted the ban on recruitment of home guards in the state.
Official sources said on Saturday that the ban has been withdrawn following the direction of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
With this, the vacant posts of home guards in the state can be filled soon, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said in a statement.
It may be noted that the total number of home guard posts in the state is 17,675 while 15,306 home guards are working. As many as 2,369 posts are vacant.
The posts left vacant can be filled following the government’s decision.
