Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.
According to sources, the two leaders discussed the corona situation. This year’s Rath Yatra also figured in their discussion.
The CM is scheduled to interact with members of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration and he informed the PM regarding the same.
The Puri Jagannath Temple management committee will also be holding a meeting in this regard later in the day.
Uncertainty looms over celebration of the world famous Rath Yatra in Puri following enforcement of lockdown measures to contain COVID-19 and strict directive to adhere to the social distancing norms.
Law Minister Pratap Jena had earlier told the media that talks are on and a decision will be taken soon.
Rath Yatra is scheduled to be held on June 23, 2020, for which construction of the chariots should begin from April 26.
