Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday sanctioned Rs 23 crore for the development of religious institutions in the state.
He sanctioned Rs 1 crore each for the development of 10 temples, 5 churches, 6 mosques, one Gurudwara and one Hindu mutt.
The 10 temples are Nrusinghanath in Bargarh, Maa Bhadrakali in Bhadrak, Harishankar in Balangir, Chandrasekhar at Kapilas in Dhenkanal, Maa Sarala in Jagatsinghpur, Maa Biraja in Jajpur, Lord Baladev Jew in Keonjhar, Gupteswar in Koraput and Nilakantheswar in Nabarangpur district.
The five churches are CNI Church in Balangir, Baptist Church in Khurda, Mount House Church in Cuttack, St Paul Protestant Church in Kalahandi and Church of Christ in Bhubaneswar.
The six mosques are Jahania Pir in Puri, Hazir Abdul Sakur Baba Tarbha Sarif mosque in Sonepur, Dargah-e-Huzoor Mujahid-e-Millat in Bhadrak, Bhujkhia Pir in Balasore, Jama Masjid in Bhubaneswar and Hazrat Bukhari Pir Baba in Khurda.
Besides, the Guru Singh Saheb Gurudwara in Sundargarh and Bauli Mutt in Puri will also receive Rs 1 crore each for their infrastructure development, said a release by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
