Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday sought the cooperation of the servitors of Jagannath temple in Puri for smooth and disciplined conduct of Rath Yatra.
The chief minister held a meeting with the ‘sevayats’ (servitors) of Chhatish Nijog in Bhubaneswar to discuss the preparations for the annual car festival in the Pilgrim Town.
“In a rare coincidence, three special rituals will be performed on the day of Rath Yatra this year. For this, your help and cooperation is necessary,” he told the servitors.
“Due to the blessings of Lord Jagannath, a commonman like me has become the chief minister of Odisha. Not only our state, the entire country and the world is run by the blessings of the Lord. So, all of us should put in our best efforts for the Lords’ annual festival,” he said.
The servitors of the Chhatish Nijog assured the chief minister of their support in this regard. Expressing their happiness for taking them into confidence in preparation for the Rath Yatra, they said they highly valued the new government’s approach towards the affairs of the temple.
