Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will address the people of Odisha at 2 pm on Thursday through a video message.
According to sources, he is likely to speak about the next roadmap for the state in the battle against COVID-19.
On May 27, the CM had warned that the month ahead will be more challenging with resumption of flight and train services.
“We have to restrategise our response based on the learnings of the two months of lockdown so that we are ahead of the pandemic and at the same time bring normalcy in economic and livelihood activities,” he had stated.
He had directed officials to plan a awareness campaign on all aspects of COVID-19 for a fortnight.
“Our learnings on the behaviour of virus in India, and more particularly in Odisha, has given us hope that with strict social distancing, wearing masks and repeated hand washing, we should be able to successfully contain the spread of pandemic,” he had added.
Earlier in the day, Naveen had a telephonic conversation with sarpanch, Asha and anganwadi workers, who contracted COVID-19 while serving people.
He praised them for their courage and dedication in providing outstanding service to society and wished them speedy recovery. “They will be a source of inspiration to others,” he added.
Naveen will also complete the first year of his 5th term as CM on Friday.
