Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to lead a high-level delegation to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 8 to 11 as part of the state’s efforts to attract greater investment and boost foreign direct investment (FDI).
He will be accompanied by Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and top officials during the four-day visit to Dubai.
Officials said CM Majhi is scheduled to participate in a series of programmes aimed at engaging with potential investors in different sectors.
During the visit, the Chief Minister is expected to hold one-to-one meetings with several investors and interact with leaders from different sectors to explore investment opportunities in Odisha.
The state government is focusing on bringing more FDI into Odisha and creating an investor-friendly environment, Industries Minister Sampad Swain said.
He noted that Odisha has received FDI investments in recent days and expressed confidence that more foreign investments will come to the state in the coming days.
The four-day Dubai programme will include investor interactions, a roadshow and meetings with representatives of various industries.
A special programme for the Odia diaspora in the UAE is also scheduled during the visit. The interaction is aimed at strengthening ties with Non-Resident Odias and encouraging them to contribute to the state’s economic and industrial development.
The UAE outreach is aimed at showcasing Odisha’s industrial potential, investment opportunities and sector-specific prospects to global investors and encouraging them to set up projects in the state.
